The Sync alarm from Yale, allows full control of home security from a smartphone, tablet, smart watch or voice assistants (Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant[1]) so users can simply stay connected wherever they are around the world.

A highlight at this year’s IFA event and a true “smart” product in all sense of the word, homes across Europe are already enjoying the added convenience the latest self-monitored Smart Home Alarm, Sync, brings to their lives.

“Whether you are using the Smart Home Alarm as a standalone product or connect it with other products from the Yale Smart Living range, it will give peace of mind that your household is protected whether you’re home or away,” says Kate Clark, Managing Director, Yale EMEA.

Already the Sync alarm has been recognised as security product of the year in the prestigious DIY Week Awards[2] in the United Kingdom. The awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the DIY sector, and the Sync Smart Home Alarm is a perfect example of this.

Combining light and sound to create the ultimate double deterrent, the integration with Philips Hue smart lights from Signify, discourages would-be burglars whilst giving homeowners visual reassurance that their home is protected.
For example, when setting the alarm, the Philips Hue colour ambient lights will glow to indicate that the system is armed, whilst in event of a break-in, the lights will flash red. For extra reassurance the Philips Hue lights pulsate to indicate the alarm is set, providing added peace of mind.

The partnership with Philips Hue is made official at IFA 2019 with the announcement of Yale as Friends of Hue.

Duncan McCue, Head of Partnerships for Philips Hue at Signify, said, “People are really beginning to appreciate the value smart home technology brings to their lives. This latest integration illustrates the versatility and compatibility of Philips Hue lights and underlines the importance of lighting to home security.”

With an estimated 275 million voice assistant devices used to control smart homes by 2023*, voice integrations are as important as visual ones.

Thanks to Yale’s integration with Amazon Alexa “Alexa, arm my home” is a phrase uttered in living rooms, and now with the recent addition of the Google Assistant you can say "Ok Google, set the security panel to fully arm".

“The smart home market is finally taking off, our research has shown 61 percent of households owning at least one device. People say they want devices that help them save money or enhance security rather than simply offering convenience,” continues Kate Clark.

Making it more convenient than ever to set your home security system, you can arm and part-arm your alarm from all Amazon Alexa devices**. Simple statements such as “Alexa, arm my home in stay mode” would arm parts of your home for when you go to bed, giving you the freedom to go about your daily routine with the peace of mind that your home is secure.

For a truly connected home, Sync will also connect with other products in the Smart Living family, such as our Smart Door Locks and Indoor and Outdoor Cameras, as well as being fully controllable from our Yale Home App.

“Being able to bring together the very best of our Yale Smart Living range and showcase it at IFA is absolutely fantastic. We are so proud to have a suite of products that connect seamlessly to create an entire smart home security ecosystem,” concludes Kate Clark.

The convenient integrations work around your life and homeowners will also benefit from Sync’s 200m enhanced range, allowing you to secure outbuildings, such as garages. Plus, the geolocation feature prompts different alarm functions based on users’ GPS location. For example, reminding you to set your alarm when you leave the house, giving you smart security for real life.
